Almost all washing machines have a dryer function… but only a few people use this feature.

The dry towel trick that makes all the difference

After washing, return the laundry to the drum and allow it to start an additional spin cycle. Add a large, clean and completely dry towel. Avoid crumpling it up: Place it so that it rests well on the laundry. During the spin cycle at maximum speed, the towel acts like a sponge. It soaks up excess moisture as the drum rotates. At the end of the spin cycle, the difference is clearly visible: the towel is heavy and damp, while the laundry comes out of the drum almost dry.

This quick-drying trick is especially effective if you’re only washing one or two pieces, especially those you need right away.

A few minutes are enough to dry the laundry. After washing, garments can often be worn in the air after just a few minutes. If you are in a hurry, you can iron the clothes briefly without steam and at the right temperature to remove the last moisture residues. The fabric dries and smoothes wrinkles at the same time, which saves valuable time.

However, be sure to follow the care instructions on the label: Fibres that are still damp are more sensitive to heat.

Properly hung laundry further speeds up the drying process. If you use a clothesline, the correct arrangement of the laundry is crucial. Avoid hanging several items of clothing on top of each other so that the air can circulate well. Thick areas such as pockets, seams or cuffs take longer to dry. After a few hours, turn the laundry and place the drying rack in the driest room of the house. Good ventilation significantly improves the drying of laundry in winter.

A small habit that will change
your day to day This simple tip will save time, reduce humidity in the house and prevent unpleasant odors in your clothes. It is ideal for hectic mornings, unexpected events or long winter days when nothing wants to dry.
This shows that with a little ingenuity and the equipment you already have, you can effortlessly turn an everyday inconvenience into a practical solution without unnecessary costs.
