Candied Orange Peels: Easy Homemade Citrus Candy

Store candied orange peels in an airtight container at room temperature, in a cool and dry place, for up to 2 weeks.

How to Freeze
Freezing is not recommended, as moisture can affect their texture once thawed.

Ingredients
3 ORANGES
200G SUGAR
120G ORANGE JUICE
340G WATER

How to Make Candied Orange Peels
Wash the oranges thoroughly. Peel them, trying to keep the peel in large pieces.
Place the peels in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Cook for about 8 minutes to reduce bitterness.

Drain the peels and immediately cool them in cold water.
Once cool, cut the peels into thin strips.

Place the orange peel strips in a saucepan with the orange juice, water, and sugar.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once the time is up, turn off the heat, cover with a lid, and let the peels rest in the syrup for 10 minutes.

Drain the peels well and arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Let them dry at room temperature for at least 1 hour, until no longer sticky.
